Welcome to RidgeText. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of RidgeText's SMS-based AI assistant service ("Service"). By registering for or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Service.

1. Service Description

RidgeText provides an SMS-based artificial intelligence assistant service. Users can text questions to our service number and receive AI-generated responses. The Service is designed to work in low-connectivity and off-grid environments where internet access may be limited or unavailable.

The Service uses advanced AI technology to interpret your questions and provide helpful responses. While we strive for accuracy, AI-generated responses may not always be correct or complete. The Service should not be used for critical decisions without independent verification.

2. SMS Messaging Terms

2.1 Consent to Receive Messages

By providing your phone number and opting into the Service, you consent to receive text messages from RidgeText. You will receive responses to your text inquiries and occasional service-related notifications.

2.2 Message Frequency

Message frequency varies based on your usage. You control how many messages you receive by controlling how many questions you ask. There is no limit to the number of times you can text us (subject to your subscription tier's quota limits).

2.3 Message and Data Rates

Message and data rates may apply based on your mobile phone service plan. RidgeText does not charge for individual text messages, but your mobile carrier may charge you for sending and receiving SMS messages. Please check with your mobile carrier for details on your messaging plan.

2.4 Opting Out

You can opt out of receiving messages at any time by texting STOP, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, or QUIT to our service number. You will receive a confirmation message that you have been unsubscribed. After opting out, you will no longer receive messages from us unless you re-opt-in by texting START or UNSTOP.

2.5 Help and Support

For help with the Service, text HELP to our service number for assistance.

2.6 Supported Carriers

The Service is available to users with mobile phone numbers from major U.S. carriers. Not all mobile carriers may support SMS messaging with our service.

3. User Account

3.1 Registration

To use the Service, you must register for an account by providing your name, phone number, and other required information. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to update such information to keep it accurate, current, and complete.

3.2 Account Security

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to immediately notify RidgeText of any unauthorized use of your account.

3.3 Account Termination

You may terminate your account at any time through your account settings. RidgeText may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms or engage in prohibited conduct.

4. Subscription Plans and Billing

4.1 Subscription Tiers

RidgeText offers multiple subscription tiers with different usage quotas and features. Free tier users receive a limited number of queries per month.

4.2 Billing and Payments

Paid subscriptions are billed on a monthly or annual basis, depending on your selected plan. Payments are processed through our third-party payment processor (Stripe). You agree to pay all fees associated with your selected subscription tier.

4.3 Overage Charges

If you exceed your monthly quota, you may be charged overage fees as outlined in your subscription plan. Overage rates are displayed during signup and in your account dashboard.

4.4 Cancellation and Refunds

You may cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellations will take effect at the end of your current billing period. We do not offer refunds for partial billing periods.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree NOT to:

Use the Service to harass, abuse, threaten, or intimidate others
Transmit any content that is illegal, harmful, or offensive
Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its systems
Use the Service to distribute spam, malware, or other malicious content
Violate any applicable laws or regulations
Impersonate any person or entity
Use automated systems (bots) to access the Service without permission

6. Intellectual Property

6.1 RidgeText Ownership

The Service, including all software, technology, and content, is owned by RidgeText and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service for your personal or business use in accordance with these Terms.

6.2 User Content

You retain ownership of the questions and content you submit to the Service. By using the Service, you grant RidgeText a license to process your queries to provide responses and to improve the Service. We anonymize and aggregate query data for service improvement purposes.

7. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

7.1 No Warranty

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. RIDGETEXT DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR COMPLETELY SECURE.

7.2 AI Accuracy

AI-generated responses are based on machine learning models and may not always be accurate, complete, or up-to-date. You should not rely on AI responses for critical decisions involving health, safety, legal matters, or financial decisions without independent verification.

7.3 Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, RIDGETEXT SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

8. Privacy

Your use of the Service is subject to our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your personal information.

9. Changes to Terms

RidgeText reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. If we make material changes, we will notify you via SMS or email. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
