RidgeText works entirely through SMS - no app to download, no internet required. Just text and go! Here's how to get started:

  2. Reply "YES" to confirm your subscription
  3. Start texting! Ask anything and get instant AI-powered answers

Ask Questions

Get instant answers to any question. RidgeText uses advanced AI to provide helpful, accurate information on virtually any topic.

Example Questions:

Note:

Image generation can take a few minutes. You'll get an acknowledgment message right away, and can keep asking other questions while you wait!

Need to see what something actually looks like? RidgeText can search and retrieve real photos, maps, diagrams, and visual data. Use words like "show me", "find", "get", or "retrieve" for real-world subjects.

Generation vs. Retrieval:

RidgeText automatically chooses between generating a new image or finding a real one:

  • • Real-world subjects: Images are retrieved from the internet
  • • Creative/fictional requests: New images are generated with AI
  • • Ambiguous? The AI makes the best guess based on context

Analyze Images

Send RidgeText a photo via MMS and get instant AI-powered analysis. Perfect for identifying plants, assessing trail conditions, or understanding what you're seeing.

Edit Your Photos

Send a photo and ask RidgeText to enhance or modify it. Perfect for making your adventure photos more dramatic or adding creative touches!

How It Works:

Simply send a photo via MMS and describe what you want changed. RidgeText will use your photo as a reference and generate an edited version with your requested modifications!

Find Nearby Places

Need to find the nearest campground, gas station, or restaurant? You can either send a photo with GPS location enabled, or just tell RidgeText your location.

Example Requests with GPS Photo:

  • • Send a photo: "Find gas stations near me"
  • • Send a photo: "Show me restaurants within 5 miles"
  • • Send a photo: "Where's the closest hospital?"

Example Requests with Address:

  • • "Show me restaurants near downtown Seattle"
  • • "Where are gas stations near Glacier Point, Yosemite?"
  • • "Find hospitals near Moab, Utah"

Two Ways to Share Your Location:

Option 1: Send a photo with GPS enabled (the photo itself doesn't need to show anything specific - just needs location metadata).
Option 2: Tell RidgeText your location in your message (e.g., "near Yosemite Valley" or "in Bend, Oregon").

Get Turn-by-Turn Directions

Get detailed driving, walking, or biking directions right to your phone via text. RidgeText needs to know your starting location - either from a GPS-enabled photo or by telling it where you are.

Option 1: Select from Nearby Places List

  • Step 1: Send a photo with GPS enabled and ask for nearby places (e.g., "Find campgrounds near me")
  • Step 2: RidgeText sends you a numbered list (1-5 results)
  • Step 3: Reply with the number: "1" or "Directions to 2"
  • Step 4: Get turn-by-turn directions from your GPS location!

Option 2: Specify Your Location and Destination

  • • "Directions from Seattle to Yellowstone National Park"
  • • "Directions to Mount Rainier from Tacoma"
  • • "Walking directions from my hotel to Pike Place Market"
  • • "Bike route from Golden Gate Park to Fisherman's Wharf"

Location Requirement:

RidgeText needs your starting location to provide directions. You can either send a photo with GPS enabled (which automatically shares your location), or tell RidgeText your starting point in your message.

Personalize Your Experience

Customize RidgeText to match your preferences! Set your preferred units, timezone, and even get responses in fun character accents.

Customization Options:

  • • Units: Choose metric (km, °C) or imperial (miles, °F)
  • • Timezone: Set your local timezone for accurate time-aware responses
  • • Persona/Accent: Get responses from Yoda, a pirate, cowboy, or other fun characters!

Get More Details

Need more comprehensive information? Just reply "MORE" to any response and RidgeText will provide a detailed, in-depth explanation.

Tips & Tricks

🎯 Be Specific

The more specific your question, the better the answer. Instead of "weather?" try "What's the weather forecast for Mount Hood this Saturday?"

💬 Conversational Context

RidgeText remembers your conversation! You can ask follow-up questions without repeating context.

📸 Combine Image + Text

When sending an image, include a specific question in your message for more targeted analysis.

🔄 Start Fresh Anytime

Conversation history expires after a while. This is normal - just start asking new questions!

Different subscription tiers have different monthly quotas:
